DESCRIPTION:TUDENT EXCHANGE WITH INDIA – WORKSHOP \nas part of the India Days of the DIG eV in Karlsruhe \n\nFriday\, October 10\, 2025\n3:00 PM – 4:30 PM\nChamber of Commerce and Industry Karlsruhe\, Lammstraße 13–17\, 76133 Karlsruhe\n\n  \nWhy this workshop? \nInternational student and teacher exchanges are more important than ever: \n–        They promote intercultural competence\, \n–        break down prejudices\, \n–        and create personal encounters that build bridges for the future. \nIndia\, which seems foreign at first glance\, becomes alive and familiar when you stay there – not least because of the great Indian hospitality. \n  \nContents of the workshop \n–        Opportunities for student and teacher exchange with India \n–        Life with host families and impressions of everyday school life in India \n–        Cultural differences and opportunities for intercultural learning \n  \nAbout the person : Angelika Hoff\, MA (Southern Oregon University) is the second chairwoman of the Federal Board of the German-Indian Society eV and heads the Project Center International school contacts at the Teacher Training and Continuing Education Seminar (Gymnasium) in Stuttgart. For many years\, she has organized and supported student and teacher exchanges with India\, initiated partnerships\, and promoted intercultural education projects. With her wealth of experience\, she makes a significant contribution to sustainably deepening encounters between Germany and India and inspiring young people to embrace global cooperation. \nTarget group \nTeachers of all types of schools who \n–        want to establish an India exchange\, \n–        Looking for support for an existing exchange\, or \n–        want to network with like-minded people. \n  \nContext & Mission \nThe German-Indian Society (DIG) sees its mission in enhancing understanding of India \nin Germany – especially among younger generations. More and more Indian \nSkilled workers become part of our society in Baden-Württemberg. \nThe city of Karlsruhe already maintains a strong network with India – through the India Board \nKarlsruhe\, the Karlsruhe-Pune twin town partnership and the Indian Summer Days. \nStudent and teacher exchanges are intended to be a further building block of these close relationships. \nRegistration & inquiries \nParticipation is free of charge. \nFor registration and inquiries: dig-ev.de
